THERE is a certain irony in the fact that Scotland play so little T20 cricket when it is the form of the game that offers them the greatest reward.
Much of that, of course, is down to circumstance and opportunity, with the 50-over Cricket World Cup League 2 championship delivering much-needed regular fixtures as well as a potential gateway to a one-day World Cup.
That will be put on hold, however, for the next few weeks as Scotland step up their preparations for what is undoubtedly their most significant commitment of 2025: The T20 World Cup Europe Regional Final taking place in Voorburg in the Netherlands from July 5 to 11.
